RCM ThinkLabs vs. Valence.

Last reviewed 8 October 2026

Valence and RCM ThinkLabs both aim to strengthen judgment and leadership at work. Valence provides Nadia, an AI coach employees talk to about their own situations. RCM ThinkLabs gives everyone the same carefully designed decisions to make, so capability can be compared and measured over time.

RCM ThinkLabs is the human capability layer for AI transformation. People play immersive micro-sessions of a few minutes a day, built on MIT game-theory research, and make real calls inside a continuing story. Leaders get a measured record of how each person's judgment changes over time across three capabilities: specification, verification and conviction.

Where Valence fits

You want coaching on demand for many managers at once. You want help preparing for real conversations, such as a performance review. You want it inside the tools people already use.

Where RCM ThinkLabs differs

A coach answers the question a person chooses to ask. Coaching is also hard to measure: no two people face the same moment. RCM ThinkLabs creates the moment. You can see who defines the problem before reaching for AI, who checks the answer, and who updates when the evidence changes, on the same terms for everyone.

Using both

RCM ThinkLabs sits beside an AI coach. The coach responds to what people bring. RCM ThinkLabs measures whether their judgment is actually getting better.

What RCM ThinkLabs does

For the early-career person

The work that built judgment is disappearing.

AI took over much of the work people used to learn on. The responsibility stayed with them. Document review, first-pass analysis, routine reporting: the everyday work that taught people how to think a problem through is the work AI took first.

They are making calls that matter, with real people on the other side, having rehearsed none of them. RCM ThinkLabs gives them the rehearsal: a few minutes a day, with private feedback after every session.

For the manager

See who is growing, and where to coach.

RCM Advisor is the manager's AI colleague. Each person is measured against their own baseline, by capability. It is for development, and it is not a ranking.
